My name is Claire Lindsey, you can find me @clairetlindsey on Instagram or at http://clairelindseyphotography.com.
For this shoot, my model was Miruna Hanzu, @mirunaah on Instagram.
I was inspired to shoot this series because I live in Michigan where we get lots of weird weather patterns, but not usually fog. We had had an excess of fog for several days and it was making most people feel gloomy, but as a photographer and artist, I love the soft atmosphere fog gives and wanted to make some playful, carefree photos in those conditions.
I shoot on a Canon Rebel T5i, and this series was with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. I edit in Lightroom and Photoshop and tested out a combination of some new VSCO presets as well as a few of my own edits for this series.
I shot it in a park in Michigan that I always drive by but never thought to stop for, because I felt like being a little adventurous for this shoot.
Some advice for someone just starting out in photography is to shoot all the time. When I first started I was using an old Canon Powershot point and shoot, which probably is worse quality than most iPhones now. Even now my camera definitely isn’t top of the line. You really don’t need amazing equipment to get some awesome photos. All you need is passion and creativity.
